Five migrants from the Mexican state of Guerrero were apprehended overnight in Terrell County near Dryden, according to a social media post by Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland.
The apprehension was led by Border Patrol agents based in Sanderson, with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Special Operations Group as part of Operation Lone Star, Cleveland said. The Terrell County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
Cleveland stated that the group included three females under the age of 18. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and no additional details about the individuals’ condition or next steps were released.
