Sul Ross State University’s Dr. Jessica Velasco has been named a 2025 Best Chapter Advisor Award recipient by Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
Dr. Velasco serves as the advisor for the university’s Omicron Phi chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, a role in which she has consistently demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and an unwavering commitment to student success. The award places her among the top chapter advisors in the country.
The honor, announced this week by Pi Sigma Alpha, recognizes faculty who go above and beyond in supporting student engagement, scholarship, and civic involvement within the field of political science.
