Officials with the Town of Pecos City are warning residents to be on alert after reports surfaced of fraudulent notices being left at local homes — either in mailboxes or directly at front doors — falsely appearing to originate from the city.
“These notices were not issued by the Town of Pecos City,” said a city spokesperson in a statement released Wednesday. “Residents are urged not to call the phone number listed on the document and to treat the notice as a scam.”
The Pecos Police Department has been notified of the incident and is actively monitoring the situation. Authorities are urging residents to remain cautious and to report any suspicious activity or individuals in their neighborhoods.
