Ropers from across the region will gather at the Sul Ross Sale Arena in Alpine on Friday, August 30, for the Brandon Espy Memorial Roping, a tribute event benefiting the Brandon Espy Memorial Scholarship Fund.
This special day of competition honors the legacy of Brandon Espy while supporting future generations through scholarship awards. The event features multiple roping formats, buckle prizes for average winners, and a silent auction — all aimed at raising funds for a meaningful cause.

Books open at 10:00 AM, roping begins at 11:00 AM Enter 1 draw 1: $150/man Add-ons: $75/man 4 head/average paid individual (HD/API) Buckles awarded to average winners
Breakaway Roping
Books close after the first round of the 12 Slide Format: 2 and a short $120, enter twice Buckle awarded to average winner
10 Roping
Books close after the first round of Breakaway Enter 1 draw 2: $150/man Add-ons: $50/man 4 HD/API Buckles awarded to average winners
🔸 Silent Auction
A silent auction will run concurrently with the 12 Slide and will close at the start of the 10 Roping short round. Bidding will be monitored both on-site and via Facebook to allow remote participation.
