In a major boost to rural economic development, El Paso County officials announced today the launch of a $17 million motorsports facility — the Pan American Speedway — set to transform North Fabens into a regional destination for racing and recreation.
Unveiled during a press conference on Tuesday, the ambitious project will feature:
A 1.7-mile professional-grade track suitable for car, motorcycle, and go-kart racing A 0.73-mile rental track geared toward families, corporate events, and community activities
Designed as a multi-use complex, the Pan American Speedway is expected to create 29 full-time jobs, attract private investment, and generate increased tourism and spending throughout East El Paso County.
“This is more than a track — it’s a strategic investment in our rural communities,” said county officials, noting the emphasis on transparency, responsible spending, and taxpayer protection throughout the planning process.
Located just 40 miles from Downtown El Paso, the Speedway is projected to become a magnet for motorsports enthusiasts across the Southwest, as well as a hub for corporate gatherings, family entertainment, and regional economic activity.
The County views this as a cornerstone project for long-term growth, aiming to revitalize North Fabens while preserving the character and charm of the area.
Construction is expected to begin soon, with more announcements to follow as the project progresses.
