The Friday night lights shine a little brighter this year as Balmorhea ISD proudly welcomes back Daniel Alvarado for his second season as the official Public Address Announcer for Bears Football.
Alvarado, a well-known media professional and proud West Texan, brings a unique blend of passion, professionalism, and community spirit to the press box. From the moment fans enter Bear Stadium, his voice sets the tone—firing up the crowd and bringing each play to life with heart and hometown energy.
In addition to his role with Balmorhea ISD, Alvarado serves as the Director of Digital Media for Reeves County, where his storytelling abilities and dedication to public service have earned widespread recognition. His media résumé includes work with CBS7, NewsWest9, Telemundo20, and Univision18, and a long list of honors including 23 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Awards and the highly regarded Edward R. Murrow Award.
But Alvarado’s impact extends well beyond the microphone. He’s the founder of ITM Films, a production company focused on spotlighting the rich, cross-border cultures of Texas and Mexico, and he lends his voice to professional baseball teams across Texas as a seasoned public address announcer.
Even more impressively, Alvarado dedicates his time to helping others. Through his initiative, “The 10th Man,” he works with children in foster care and young people with disabilities—offering support, advocacy, and mentorship. A volunteer coach and tireless community advocate, he brings that same heart to every football game he calls.
At the core of everything Daniel Alvarado does is family. He often credits his son, Liam, as his daily source of inspiration and motivation.
As the 2025 football season kicks off, Balmorhea fans can look forward to another unforgettable year of big plays, roaring crowds, and the familiar voice that ties it all together.
Welcome back, Mr. Alvarado—and Go Bears!
