Restroom Repairs Planned at Black Gap Wildlife Management Area

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is set to begin a $135,000 renovation project at the Black Gap Wildlife Management Area in Brewster County, according to state construction records.

The project, located along FM 2627, will involve repairs to an existing bunkhouse restroom, including upgrades to lavatories, toilets, and the shower. The renovated space will total 116 square feet.

Work is scheduled to start Aug. 29, 2025, and be completed by Aug. 31, 2026. The project will use public funds and is located on public land.

Black Gap Wildlife Management Area, situated in the remote Trans-Pecos region, is operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife to support wildlife research, habitat conservation, and public hunting opportunities.
