McDonald Observatory Highlights National Reach of StarDate Radio Program

McDonald Observatory is celebrating the reach and longevity of StarDate, the longest-running national radio science feature in the United States.

Airing daily on more than 350 stations and reaching 2 million listeners, StarDate helps audiences across the country explore the night sky while learning about astronomy, history, and current space research.

During The University of Texas at Austin’s “40 Hours for the Forty Acres” fundraising campaign, the observatory is raising support to help keep StarDate on the air. Donations go toward covering production costs, expert science writers, and voice talent that make the show a unique and accessible science education tool.
