TPWD Hiring Cooks for Black Bear Restaurant at Indian Lodge in Fort Davis

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is hiring three Cook II positions at the Black Bear Restaurant in Indian Lodge, located within Davis Mountains State Park.

The full-time roles pay $17.45 per hour and require 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. Under the supervision of the food service manager, cooks will prepare menu items, maintain inventory, assist with kitchen cleanliness, and may support other areas such as housekeeping or groundskeeping.

Minimum qualifications include completion of 8th grade and at least six months of food preparation experience in a full-service restaurant. A valid state driver’s license is required, and new hires must obtain a Food Handler Certification recognized by the Texas Department of State Health Services within 30 days of employment.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, one year of restaurant experience, and a current Food Handler Certification.
