More than 70 volunteer firefighters from 19 Texas fire departments gathered in the Davis Mountains this past weekend for the 17th Annual Mile High Fire/Rescue School. The three-day training event, held at the Fort Davis Fire Station, provided hands-on courses designed to enhance firefighting knowledge and skills.
Training topics included Electric Battery Awareness, Ropes Rescue, Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training, Wildland Certification, Fire Hose Operations, Hazard Material Awareness, Smoke Reading, and Fire Pump Operations. The Fort Davis Volunteer Fire Department (FDVFD) hosts the event annually, offering firefighters from across the state the opportunity to sharpen their expertise.
