The Andrews Police Department, which serves a small community just north of Midland and Odessa, Texas, has issued a tongue-in-cheek public service announcement alerting residents to the “dangerous dealers” currently taking over the town: Girl Scouts armed with their highly addictive cookies.
These pint-sized entrepreneurs have been spotted outside grocery stores, churches, and even the police station, boldly tempting locals with their lineup of irresistible treats. Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs are among the “notorious” varieties being sold, with the department humorously warning residents about the cookies’ dangerously delicious effects.
“These Scouts are relentless—they’ve even been spotted using puppy-dog eyes and cheerful smiles to seal the deal,” the department joked in a post on social media.
A “Crisis” Worth Laughing About
The lighthearted announcement acknowledged the inevitability of falling victim to the cookie craze but assured residents that they aren’t alone in their sweet struggles. “If you’ve already fallen victim to their delicious trap, fear not. You are not alone,” the post read.
The Andrews PD even admitted their own weakness, signing off as “Proud Thin Mint Addicts” and asking for tips on locating the new Raspberry Rallies for “research purposes.”
Community Connection with Humor
The playful post reflects the department’s ongoing efforts to connect with the Andrews community through humor and relatable content. By embracing the annual Girl Scout cookie craze, the Andrews PD fosters a sense of fun and camaraderie while reminding residents to support local Scouts.
As cookie season continues, locals are encouraged to stock up—both for their cravings and to help the Scouts reach their goals. After all, even the Andrews PD can’t resist the pull of a box (or two) of Thin Mints.
