Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is offering a unique opportunity to work in one of the state’s most breathtaking and remote locations. Fort Leaton State Historic Site, part of Big Bend Ranch State Park, is seeking a Superintendent to manage operations, preservation, and programming for this historic site and its surrounding natural areas.
The Superintendent will oversee Fort Leaton, the Western Portal of Big Bend Ranch State Park, and Chinati Mountains State Natural Area. Responsibilities include cultural and natural resource stewardship, budget management, community outreach, volunteer coordination, and leading search and rescue operations when required.

Position Details
- Location: 16952 FM 170 East, Presidio, Texas
- Salary: $5,612.72 – $6,612.72 per month
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with on-call responsibilities

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in fields such as natural or cultural resource management, education, public safety, or maintenance, with one year of supervisory experience. Preferred candidates will have expertise in park administration, resource management, or marketing.
