Fort Leaton State Historic Site, located near the scenic Big Bend Ranch, hosted another successful Posada, bringing together the community of Presidio in a vibrant celebration of tradition and holiday spirit. This year’s event, generously funded by the Friends of Big Bend Ranch State Park, was marked by an array of festive activities and performances that captured the essence of this cherished cultural event.
The highlight of the evening was the enchanting performance by the C.O.O.L. kids choir, whose melodious singing filled the air with warmth and joy. Adding to the cultural tapestry, the Terlingua ISD’s folklorico group, Grupo Nueva Generacion, showcased traditional dances, further enriching the evening’s festivities.
Special thanks were extended to Jaime Flores, whose musical talents kept the atmosphere lively and festive throughout the event. His repertoire of holiday music was a perfect backdrop for the community as they gathered to celebrate the season.
The Posada at Fort Leaton State Historic Site has become a staple event for the community, reflecting the strong bonds and collaborative spirit among the residents and various local organizations. The success of this event is a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of all involved, from the performers to the organizers and supporters like the Friends of Big Bend Ranch State Park.
As the holiday season continues, the community of Presidio and all those involved in the Posada are filled with gratitude and joy, looking forward to more such gatherings that celebrate heritage and togetherness.
