Mark your calendars for October 25, 2025, as the annual Marathon to Marathon (M2M) races kick off in Marathon, Texas. This exciting event promises a variety of races catering to different levels of runners, from full marathons to shorter 5Ks, all starting in the dark with required headlamps and reflective clothing for safety.
Registration and Fees: Participants can register for the M2M event online, with fees ranging from $60 for the 5K to $130 for the full marathon. Each registration includes a finishing medal and an M2M shirt, although registrations after October 1st may not guarantee these items due to availability. Notably, price increases will occur on January 1, September 1, October 1, and October 23. All participants must register by October 24 as there will be no registrations allowed on the day of the race.
Event Schedule and Details:
- Packet Pick-Up: Available on October 24 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Community Center in Marathon.
- Pasta Dinners: Scheduled for October 24, with a paid option in Marathon and a free option at the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce.
- Race Day: Begins with the various race events and ends with a lunch at the finish line from 11:00 am to 1:45 pm, featuring smoked meats, an elote bar, cookies, iced tea, and free beer. Lunch tickets are $25 each and must be purchased in advance, although a limited number may be available on race day.
Post-Race Activities:
- Massages: Available at the finish line with direct payment to the therapist.
- Awards Ceremony: Scheduled for 1:15 pm at the fundraiser lunch, with over 80 awards given out to participants.
- Evening Relaxation: The Marathon Motel will host a chill-out party from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, where participants can enjoy the night sky. Telescopes will be available for stargazing, and participants are encouraged to bring their own for a communal astronomy session.
Special Notices:
- Runners from El Paso should note the time change when traveling to Marathon.
- No refunds or transfers to the following year are allowed, but participants can change race categories online until the registration closes.
