Students from the Texas Tech University Honors College recently visited the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute (CDRI) to learn about the unique ecosystem of the Chihuahuan Desert, recognized as the most biologically diverse desert in the Western Hemisphere. The visit included educational tours and discussions highlighting the vast range of flora and fauna that inhabit the area.
The excursion aimed to provide the students with a deeper understanding of the ecological importance and the conservation efforts necessary to preserve the desert’s biodiversity. CDRI’s programs continue to offer valuable insights into the natural world, supporting academic growth and environmental awareness among college students.
