The 5th Annual West Texas BBQ Bash, the region’s largest fall festival, will take place on October 19, 2024, in Monahans, Texas. Sponsored by the oil and gas industry, the event offers free food, drinks, and live music in addition to a CBA-sanctioned BBQ cook-off and plenty of family-friendly activities.
Founded in 2020 as a charitable initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic, the West Texas BBQ Bash is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on supporting vulnerable community members in West Texas. The event was initially created to provide essential resources to those in need, particularly the elderly in Pyote, Texas, who were facing severe food insecurity. Since its inception, the event has grown exponentially, raising nearly $1 million for charitable causes within the local oil and gas communities.
The BBQ Bash now draws close to 10,000 attendees and features more than 50 cook teams from the oil and gas industry, along with competitive pitmasters from over six states. The event serves as a significant fundraiser for local charities, including the Ward County Toys for Tots program.
