New Mural by Monty Welt Brightens the Exterior of Love, Marfa Shop

Love, Marfa, a unique shop featuring photography by Lesley Villarreal, has unveiled a vibrant new mural by celebrated local artist Monty Welt on its exterior. The mural, which adds a fresh splash of creativity to the shop’s facade, is the latest in Welt’s growing collection of public artworks across the region.

Monty Welt, a well-known muralist based in Alpine, recently gained attention for his work on a temporary community mural at the site of the Memorial Day Weekend fire in downtown Alpine. His steadily expanding portfolio of murals throughout the area has made him a prominent figure in the local art scene. In addition to his artistic contributions, Welt serves as President of Create Space, an arts collective in Alpine offering studio space, life drawing sessions, and a creative community for local and visiting artists.

Love, Marfa is open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4-ish, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2-ish. The shop is also known for its “Marfa Hated on Yelp” product line, which humorously highlights bad reviews of Marfa.

Be sure to stop by and see Monty Welt’s newest mural while exploring the unique items offered at Love, Marfa.
