CDRI Hosts Cactus Education Course for Region 18 Teachers

The Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute (CDRI) recently hosted an all-day Continuing Professional Education (CPE) course titled “Stuck on You,” designed for teachers from Region 18. The program focused on educating teachers about cacti, providing them with lesson ideas, and giving each participant a cactus to take home and plant.

Region 18 includes school districts such as Alpine ISD, Andrews ISD, Balmorhea ISD, Big Spring ISD, Buena Vista ISD, Compass Academy Charter School, Coahoma ISD, Culberson County-Allamoore ISD, Ector County ISD, Forsan ISD, Fort Davis ISD, Fort Stockton ISD, Glasscock County ISD, Grady ISD, Grandfalls-Royalty ISD, Greenwood ISD, Harmony Science Academy (El Paso), Iraan-Sheffield ISD, Kermit ISD, Marathon ISD, Marfa ISD, McCamey ISD, Midland Academy Charter School, Midland ISD, Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD, Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD, Presidio ISD, Rankin ISD, Reagan County ISD, Richard Milburn Academy, San Vicente ISD, Stanton ISD, Terlingua CSD, Terrell County ISD, Texas Leadership, Valentine ISD, and Wink-Loving ISD.

The event provided an engaging and educational experience for the teachers, equipping them with knowledge and resources to bring back to their classrooms. The CDRI continues to support and enhance educational opportunities for educators in the region.
