The Texas Department of Transportation has announced a new construction project in Alpine starting on August 5. Crews will begin the SH 118 Surfacing & Roadway Rehabilitation Project.
The project will extend from the Jeff Davis/Brewster County line on SH 118 to the north side of Avenue E in downtown Alpine. It will include milling, asphalt overlay, new pavement markings, signs, metal beam guard fence replacement, and new curb ramps.
Construction will occur during both day and night hours. The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2025.
