Dr. John Klingemann, a candidate for Director of the Museum of the Big Bend, will present his vision to the Alpine community and Sul Ross State University personnel on Thursday, August 1, from 3:10-4:00 p.m. at the Espino Conference Center in the University Center.
The Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine, Texas, tells the story of the land and people of the Big Bend region. Mary Bones, the previous Director, retired on April 30, 2024.
Dr. Klingemann brings extensive experience in history and leadership, having served as Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Angelo State University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and both a B.A. and M.A. from Sul Ross State University. His academic and professional background includes numerous teaching roles and publications focused on Mexican and Latin American history.
