The Morgan University Center, located at E Sul Ross Ave in Alpine, is set for a comprehensive renovation with an estimated cost of $1.3 million, scheduled for completion on August 1, 2024. This renovation project will encompass a substantial update to the center’s food service area, enhancing the facility that serves as a vital hub for Sul Ross State University’s community.
The scope of the project includes the demolition of existing walls, ceilings, doors, millwork, floor finishes, and equipment within a 2,000 square foot area. It will be followed by the construction of new walls, finishes, and millwork, aimed at modernizing the space to better serve students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, guests, and visitors.
The Morgan University Center, which spans a total of 51,719 square feet, is not only a dining and socializing venue but also houses meeting rooms, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a game room, student lounge, and several university offices. This renovation is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the functionality and aesthetics of the center, ensuring it remains a welcoming space for all members of the university community.
