After months of anticipation, the Jeff Davis County Library has reopened its doors to the public following an extensive transformation funded by a generous $100,000 grant from the Tocker Foundation. Located at 100 Memorial Square, Fort Davis, TX 79734, the library’s ambitious transformation project aims to enhance its facilities and services for the benefit of the community.

The library, a cherished institution in Fort Davis, has long been a vital resource for residents seeking access to a wide range of materials and services. From traditional book lending to modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi and public computers, the library has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of its patrons.
Among its many offerings are print, scan, copy, fax, and laminating services, as well as a diverse collection of audiobooks, DVDs, and e-books. Additionally, the library boasts a unique “Library of Things” where patrons can borrow items like lawn mowers and clothing steamers, reflecting its commitment to serving the diverse needs of the community.
The transformation project, made possible by the generous support of the Tocker Foundation, has introduced a new floor plan design and updated fixtures and furniture, creating a more inviting and functional space for learning and collaboration. These enhancements are expected to ensure that the library remains a vibrant hub for community engagement for years to come.
