TPWD Seeks Custodial Manager for Indian Lodge in Fort Davis

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is inviting applications for a Custodial Manager I position at the picturesque Indian Lodge, located within Davis Mountains State Park in Fort Davis, Texas. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the lodge, including guest rooms, the restaurant, public areas, and storage spaces, in addition to overseeing laundry operations and preparing the lodge for seasonal festivities and special events.

A Key Role in Guest Experience:

Under the direction of the Indian Lodge Assistant Manager, the Custodial Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation, contributing significantly to the overall guest experience. The position involves hands-on leadership of the housekeeping team, encompassing daily performance management, scheduling, counseling, and conducting performance reviews.

Qualifications and Skills:

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, coupled with at least one year of experience in general cleaning, housekeeping, or custodial work, and one year of supervisory experience within a housekeeping environment. A valid State driver’s license is required for those whose duties include driving.

The successful applicant will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of facility cleaning techniques, inventory control principles, and the use of custodial materials and equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with strong verbal and written communication skills, is essential. The ability to work independently, manage a team effectively, and maintain high standards of work and safety are key attributes for this position.
