New tourism brochures promoting Presidio and the surrounding Big Bend region have arrived at Presidio City Hall as the community prepares for the opening of a visitor center.
Presidio Mayor John Ferguson announced the arrival of the printed brochures in a social media post, highlighting the city’s efforts to promote tourism and attract visitors to the region.
The brochures feature the “Big Love for Big Bend” tourism campaign, a regional marketing initiative encouraging travelers to explore communities, attractions and businesses throughout Far West Texas.
Featuring the slogan “Show Your Love. Big Bend Is Waiting,” the colorful brochures include an illustrated map highlighting Presidio, Marfa, Alpine, Fort Davis, Marathon, Terlingua and other destinations.
The materials encourage visitors to explore scenic routes, visit parks and historic sites, dine at local restaurants, shop at independently owned businesses and extend their stays.
The campaign is a collaboration involving the Big Bend Tourism Alliance and tourism organizations representing communities across Brewster and Terrell counties, along with Marathon, Fort Davis, Alpine, Presidio, Marfa, the Texas Mountain Trail and the Texas Pecos Trail regions.
For Presidio, located along the U.S.-Mexico border near Big Bend Ranch State Park, tourism represents an opportunity to attract travelers exploring the region’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage and recreational destinations.
The planned visitor center is expected to provide another resource for promoting Presidio and helping travelers discover attractions and businesses in the area. An opening date was not provided.
The new brochures are currently at Presidio City Hall, according to Ferguson’s announcement.
