The Big Bend Regional Hospital District is inviting Presidio residents to meet its newest patient advocate, Brenda Grado, during a community meet-and-greet event Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at 602 W. O’Reilly St. in Presidio. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided.
Grado joins the hospital district as a patient advocate, a position focused on helping patients navigate health care services, address concerns and connect with available resources.
The hospital district announced Grado’s arrival through its social media channels, encouraging community members to stop by and introduce themselves.
The gathering will provide residents with an opportunity to meet Grado in person and become familiar with a local contact for patient assistance.
Patient advocates can play an important role in rural communities, where residents may face challenges accessing medical services, understanding health care options and coordinating care.
The Big Bend Regional Hospital District serves communities across the Big Bend region, working to support access to health care services in an area where medical resources can be limited by geography and distance.
The Oct. 21 event is open to community members interested in meeting Grado and learning more about her role with the district.
