A man was arrested on a felony driving while intoxicated charge after law enforcement officers responding to a reported domestic incident encountered his vehicle, according to the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said it received a call Thursday regarding a possible domestic incident while emergency crews were responding to a fire elsewhere in the county.
Shortly after the call, Terrell County sheriff’s deputies and a Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol trooper encountered a vehicle matching the description provided to authorities.
The driver, identified as Marcuss Martinez, was arrested by DPS and charged with driving while intoxicated with a passenger younger than 15.
Martinez was booked into the Terrell County Jail. The vehicle was released to a family member, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities did not immediately release additional information about the reported domestic incident or say whether Martinez faces any charges related to that call.
Martinez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
