A man convicted of killing his partner and committing acts of domestic violence against her and her young daughter has been sentenced to 42 years in prison, Chihuahua state prosecutors said.
Jesús G.H. was convicted of aggravated femicide and family violence following a trial in the Manuel Ojinaga Judicial District, according to the Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office.
Prosecutors said the violence occurred between July and September 2024 at a residence in Ojinaga and was directed at the defendant’s partner and her daughter, who was 1 year and 3 months old at the time.
Prosecutors said Jesús G.H. assaulted his partner on Sept. 14, 2024, causing her death. He was arrested at the scene.
During oral trial 98/2025, prosecutors presented evidence they said established the defendant’s responsibility for the domestic violence and the woman’s killing. The trial court subsequently returned a guilty verdict.
At sentencing, the court ordered Jesús G.H. to serve 42 years in prison.
