Museum of the Big Bend names Milo Frias curator of collections

The Museum of the Big Bend has named Milo Frias its new curator of collections, bringing experience from museums and historic sites across Texas.

Frias holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a master’s degree in museum studies from Baylor University. He also holds certification from the Academy of Certified Archivists.

His previous experience includes work as a historic site assistant at Waco Mammoth National Monument, collections coordinator at the Dr Pepper Museum, STEM team assistant at the Mayborn Museum Complex and collections assistant at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum.

As curator of collections, Frias will help preserve and showcase artifacts and stories documenting the history and cultures of the Big Bend region.

The museum said Frias is also an avid visitor to national parks, which he explores with his dog, Indiana Bones.
