A free book fair offering titles for readers of all ages will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at Davis Mountains State Park.
The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the park’s Interpretive Center and will feature free books covering nature, science, astronomy, zoology and other subjects. Fiction and nonfiction books with environmental themes will also be available, along with holiday books.
Organizers are promoting the event as an opportunity for children and adults to pick up books while visiting one of Far West Texas’ most popular state parks.
The books are being provided courtesy of Book Lady Books.
Although the books are free, regular park entrance requirements apply. Visitors should obtain an entrance permit at park headquarters before attending the fair. Admission to Davis Mountains State Park is $6 for adults and free for children ages 12 and younger.
Davis Mountains State Park is located in the Davis Mountains near Fort Davis and offers hiking, camping, wildlife viewing and educational programs highlighting the natural environment of the region.
