Two Texas Parks and Wildlife Department wildlife biologists have been recognized by the Texas Wildlife Association for their work in the Trans-Pecos region.
Rachael Connally, TPWD’s Presidio County wildlife biologist, received the Texas Wildlife Association’s Texas Big Game Scorer of the Year award for Region 1.
Chase McCrory, TPWD’s Terrell County wildlife biologist, was named the Region 1 Texas Youth Hunting Program Volunteer of the Year.
The awards were presented during the Region 1 Texas Big Game Awards event in Alpine.
TPWD said the honors recognize Connally and McCrory’s work managing and conserving Texas’ natural resources while supporting hunting and outdoor recreation opportunities.
“Your hard work and dedication to managing and conserving the natural resources of Texas while supporting hunting and outdoor recreation opportunities for the enjoyment of present and future generations is highlighted by these achievements,” TPWD’s Trans-Pecos wildlife program said in announcing the awards.
The Texas Big Game Awards program recognizes hunters, landowners, wildlife professionals and conservation efforts across the state.
