The Terrell County Sheriff’s Office has added a veteran law enforcement officer with decades of local, state and federal experience to its ranks.
Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland announced Thursday that he had sworn in Danny Salmon, a lifelong friend from Sanderson, as the department’s newest deputy.
According to Cleveland, Salmon has spent his adult life in public service, serving as a U.S. Marine before beginning a law enforcement career that included service as a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and as a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Cleveland praised Salmon’s career and commitment to public service, saying he was proud to welcome someone with his experience, integrity and dedication to the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office.
“We’re continuing to build on great things in Terrell County, and having Danny join our team is another step in that direction,” Cleveland said in a social media announcement.

The appointment brings decades of military, state and federal law enforcement experience to the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office as the department continues to expand its team.
