Reeves County fire officials lead rope rescue training at Texas fire school

Two Reeves County emergency services officials served as instructors during the 2026 Municipal Fire Training School at Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station.

Reeves County Emergency Services District No. 1 Fire Battalion Chief M. Parker and Fire Capt. J. Woodward taught a Rope Awareness and Operations course during the weeklong training program.

Firefighters from multiple departments received hands-on instruction in rope rescue fundamentals, including knot tying, anchor systems, patient packaging, mechanical advantage systems and low-angle rescue operations.

The training is intended to help firefighters develop the skills and confidence needed to respond safely during technical rescue incidents.

Reeves County ESD No. 1 said Parker and Woodward’s participation reflected the department’s commitment to continuing education and supporting fire service preparedness across Texas.

The district also thanked the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service for organizing the training and congratulated the participating firefighters on completing the course.
