Reeves County Emergency Services Districts Nos. 1 and 2 opened the doors last week to a new fire and emergency medical services station designed to improve response capabilities and provide additional space for training.
Station No. 4, located at 5 U.S. Highway 285 in Pecos, will support daily fire and EMS operations as well as specialized rescue training, according to the district.
Officials said the facility was developed to help reduce emergency response times, expand training opportunities and prepare the department for the county’s future public safety needs.
The district credited its emergency services commissioners, leadership, employees, contractors and community members with helping complete the project.
A public grand-opening celebration is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the new station.
