The Pecos County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing Sgt. Kelly Kennedy following his retirement after years of service to the county, according to a statement released by Sheriff T.J. Perkins.

Kennedy served the sheriff’s office as a K-9 handler and worked alongside his partner, Quatro, on narcotics investigations and interdiction efforts. In the announcement, the sheriff’s office credited the team with helping remove illegal narcotics from the community and contributing to numerous investigations and cash seizures.

Sheriff Perkins praised Kennedy’s professionalism, integrity and dedication to the citizens of Pecos County, saying his service left a lasting impact on public safety.

“Kelly, thank you for your loyalty, sacrifice and dedication to the badge,” Perkins said in the statement. “Your years of service have left a legacy that will not be forgotten.”

The sheriff’s office also extended well wishes to Kennedy and his family as he begins retirement, thanking him for his service to Pecos County.
