Fort Davis ISD invites community members to join district committees

Fort Davis Independent School District is encouraging parents and community members to become more involved in local education through its committee program for the 2026-27 school year.

The district recently announced a “Come & Go Committee Information Round Up,” designed to provide residents with information about district committees, volunteer opportunities and ways to support local schools.

According to the district, the event will give attendees an opportunity to learn about the purpose of each committee, discover ways to get involved, sign up for committees that match their interests and receive information about the upcoming school year.

Printed information will be available for pickup from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Fort Davis High School. Residents who are unable to attend in person can access information online and submit committee applications electronically through a link provided by the district.

In addition to committee information, materials including the district’s football schedule, school calendar and informational flyers will also be available.

District officials said they hope increased community participation will help strengthen local schools and provide additional opportunities for collaboration between parents, residents and educators.

“We encourage all parents and community members to attend and help make a positive impact on our schools,” the district said in its announcement.
