Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson hosted the July meeting of the Big Bend Area Law Enforcement Officers Association on Wednesday evening at the Marathon Community Center, bringing together local, state and federal law enforcement personnel from across West Texas.
According to the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, the monthly gathering was attended by officers representing agencies throughout the region and served as an opportunity for networking and coordination among law enforcement professionals.
The sheriff’s office thanked Angel Torres, Jail Administrator Jose Gutierrez and jail staff for preparing and serving the meal for attendees.
The event also featured door prizes donated by businesses and community members from across the Big Bend region. Acknowledged donors included Skelton’s Runway, Triangle Market, Big Bend Saddlery, La Casita, Lowe’s, Alpine Small Animal Practice, Tractor Supply, Subway, True Value, Out West Feed & Supply, McCoy’s, Sonic, Desert Ghost Distillery, West Texas National Bank and numerous other local businesses and organizations.

The Big Bend Area Law Enforcement Officers Association regularly brings together law enforcement personnel from multiple jurisdictions across West Texas to discuss issues affecting public safety and regional cooperation.
