Hotel Paisano has new ownership, with plans underway for extensive renovations, a new restaurant and a broader restoration of the landmark property, according to reporting from The Big Bend Sentinel.
Lauren and Harrison King, along with partner Jack “Buck” Buczkowski and a group of investors, assumed ownership of the hotel July 1.
The new ownership team plans a phased renovation intended to preserve the hotel’s Spanish Revival architecture while updating the property for future guests. The first phase will include a new restaurant and bar, an expanded billiards room and a refreshed fireplace lounge.
The restaurant, Meseta, is expected to open in early October 2026, with Brian Espinoza serving as executive chef.
Later phases are expected to include guest room renovations, a revamped retail experience, a new breakfast and lunch café and a spa. The full restoration is expected to be completed by fall 2027.
The new owners also expressed appreciation to Joe and Lanna Duncan for their stewardship of Hotel Paisano and for entrusting the property’s next chapter to the new ownership group.
