Ambulance responding to emergency call involved in crash in Ojinaga

A Mexican Red Cross ambulance was damaged and three people were injured after the emergency vehicle was involved in a collision while responding to a call in Ojinaga on Sunday evening.

According to local reports, the crash occurred near the intersection of Boulevard Ignacio Camargo and Libre Comercio.

Authorities said the ambulance was responding to an emergency call when it entered the intersection and was struck by a white Jeep Patriot. The impact caused significant damage to the front passenger side of the ambulance.

Two young people were transported to a hospital for treatment. A Red Cross paramedic also suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Photographs from the scene show the damaged ambulance stopped beneath traffic signs directing motorists toward Presidio, Texas, Ojinaga’s downtown area and Camargo.

Municipal Police and Traffic Police officers responded to the scene and investigated the collision.

Officials reminded motorists to use caution, reduce speed and yield to emergency vehicles responding to calls.
