Mexican Consulate Hosts Binational World Cup Watch Party in Presidio

The Mexican Consulate in Presidio hosted a binational community gathering Thursday at Casa Agave restaurant in Presidio to watch the soccer match between Mexico and South Africa, according to a social media post from the consulate.

The event, held June 11, brought together community members from both sides of the border to watch the match while learning about consular services available through the Mexican government. Organizers also held prize-based activities during the gathering.

“At the end, we celebrated the victory of the Mexican National Team,” the consulate said in Spanish in a Facebook post.

Photos shared by the Consulate of Mexico in Presidio showed attendees gathered around large projection screens inside the restaurant during what the consulate described as a “Mundial Social” event aimed at community engagement.

The event highlights the ongoing cultural and civic ties between communities in Presidio and neighboring Ojinaga, Chihuahua, where cross-border relationships remain a central part of daily life.
