The U.S. Border Patrol will host its eighth annual cornhole tournament in Sanderson following the community’s Fourth of July parade, with cash prizes up for grabs and registration beginning after the festivities.
According to event organizers, the USBP-MWR Cornhole Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, on the west side of the courthouse lawn. Teams can register after the parade, with entry set at $50 per team.
The tournament is organized through the U.S. Border Patrol’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation program, commonly referred to as MWR, which coordinates recreational and community-building activities for Border Patrol employees and their families.
Promotional materials for the event advertise cash prizes, though organizers have not yet released prize amounts or tournament format details.
The annual competition has become part of Sanderson’s Independence Day festivities, bringing together Border Patrol personnel and local residents for a patriotic community event after the parade.
