Community members interested in learning more about opposition to a proposed border wall in the Big Bend region are invited to attend a “No Wall on Wheels Rally” in Presidio this week.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, at 5 p.m. at St. Francis Park in Presidio and is being supported by the Big Bend Conservation Alliance.
According to organizers, the first 50 attendees will receive free lattes sponsored by the Big Bend Conservation Alliance and served by Presidio-based Pour Over Coffee & Co.
Event materials indicate attendees can expect information about ongoing advocacy efforts, coalition merchandise, opportunities to support the cause and community engagement centered on opposition to a border wall in the Big Bend region.
The No Big Bend Wall Coalition has organized events across Far West Texas as debate over potential border wall construction continues, with organizers emphasizing concerns related to conservation, land access and impacts on the region’s landscape and communities.
