The Fort Davis Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet Monday evening for a special meeting that includes governance training and a closed executive session for legal consultation and discussion of the superintendent’s contract.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 1, at 401 W. Webster Ave. in Fort Davis, according to a posted agenda.
After the call to order, invocation and pledges, trustees will participate in “Team of 8 and Related Board Training,” which focuses on governance and working relationships between school board members and district leadership.
The board will then move into executive session for consultation with legal counsel concerning the Texas Open Meetings Act, local governance and related issues under Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 and 551.129.
Trustees are also expected to discuss and consider possible action related to amending the superintendent’s contract under Texas Government Code Section 551.074, which allows school boards to deliberate personnel matters in closed session.
The board is expected to reconvene in open session following executive session and may take action on matters discussed behind closed doors.
The agenda was posted May 28 and signed by the superintendent.
