Children interested in art and watercolor painting will have an opportunity to build creative skills this summer through a weeklong art camp hosted by Sul Ross State University and the Museum of the Big Bend.
The SRSU Art Camp for Kids is scheduled for June 8–12 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Museum of the Big Bend Education Room. The camp is open to children ages 7 to 12.
According to organizers, participants will learn drawing and watercolor painting techniques while exploring topics including one-point perspective, color, shape, line composition and principles of design.
The cost is $200 per child and includes daily snacks and art supplies. Organizers said artwork created during the camp will be showcased at the Museum of the Big Bend.
The camp is hosted by the Sul Ross Art Program and the Museum of the Big Bend. Space is limited, and registration is currently open.
