Diners in Alpine looking to try something different Saturday evening will have a chance to experience a taste of Venezuela.
Bread Garden Bakery Alpine is featuring Venezuelan Pabellón Criollo as its dinner special Saturday, introducing customers to what is widely regarded as Venezuela’s national dish.
The hearty plate traditionally includes shredded or pulled beef served alongside white rice and black beans, often accompanied by sides such as fried plantains or cheese. Bread Garden Bakery described its version as featuring pulled beef, black beans and white rice.
The special is part of the bakery’s dinner service, available from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Customers may dine in or order takeout at the restaurant, located at 801 E. Holland Ave.
For many in Alpine, the special offers an opportunity to sample a classic Latin American comfort food without leaving Far West Texas — bringing flavors rooted in Venezuelan culinary tradition to the local dining scene.
