The Fort Davis National Historic Site will host a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 25, to commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States.
The event, scheduled for noon at the historic site, will include a presentation on the history of Memorial Day, a traditional three-volley salute and an opportunity for visitors to explore the historic fort during a fee-free day.
Organizers said the ceremony is intended to honor fallen military service members while providing educational context about the national observance.
The public is invited to attend. Officials noted attendees are not required to salute or pay honors but are asked to remain quiet and respectful throughout the ceremony.
The Memorial Day event will take place at the Fort Davis National Historic Site on Monday, May 25, beginning at 12 p.m.
