Two arrested on drug possession charges in Fort Davis

Two people were arrested on drug possession charges May 7 after deputies responded to a reported theft at Lowe’s Grocery Store in Fort Davis, according to the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said a deputy assigned to the Stonegarden program responded to the call at approximately 5:41 p.m. Deputies later located two individuals in the 500 block of South State Street.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that one of the suspects had an active warrant through the Austin Board of Pardons and Parole for dangerous drug possession, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies identified the suspects as Ruben Adele Cameron and Levi Henry Thatcher. Authorities said a search led to the discovery of methamphetamine, LSD, syringes and a THC vape pen.

Both individuals were arrested on possession of controlled substance charges and transported to the Hudspeth County Jail without incident.

The incident remains under investigation.
