Museum of the Big Bend Announces Alpine Photo Weekend Events

The Museum of the Big Bend is inviting the public to Alpine Photo Weekend on June 12–13, featuring an opening reception for a new photography exhibition and a full day of free presentations and activities centered on photography and visual storytelling.

The weekend will begin Friday, June 12, with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. for “Quaerite et Invenietis: A Lifetime of Wandering and Wondering,” a photography exhibition by Bobby Greeson.

According to the museum, the exhibition highlights Greeson’s work and experiences captured through years of travel and exploration.

Events will continue Saturday, June 13, with a full day of free photography presentations and activities hosted by the museum.

The announcement was shared this week on the museum’s social media pages as part of its promotion for the annual Alpine Photo Weekend festivities.

The Museum of the Big Bend, located on the campus of Sul Ross State University, regularly hosts exhibitions and cultural programming focused on the history, art and landscapes of the Big Bend region.
