Presidio Mayor John Ferguson is encouraging residents to participate in a free community bicycle ride Saturday morning as part of the “V Semana Binacional de Deporte 2026,” or Fifth Binational Week of Sports 2026.
According to promotional materials shared online, the “Bicycle Fun Ride” will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Mexican Consulate in Presidio, located at 319 W. 21st St.
The family-friendly event is being promoted under the theme “Salud en movimiento,” meaning “Health in motion.”
In a social media post promoting the ride, Ferguson urged residents to join the event and offered to assist riders with mechanical issues if needed.
“I’ll be there to fix your flats or whatever,” Ferguson wrote. “Just please come ride with us!”
The event is being organized with support from the Mexican Consulate in Presidio and the Big Bend Conservation Alliance. Organizers said the ride will both begin and end at the consulate.
