Marfa Independent School District has opened its search for a new superintendent, outlining qualifications and application requirements for candidates interested in leading the district.
According to information released by the district, applications and supporting documents must be submitted by Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 4 p.m. CST.
The district said candidates must hold a Texas superintendent certificate and have at least eight years of experience in education that includes classroom teaching experience. Marfa ISD also listed central office and/or campus administration experience as a requirement.
Superintendent experience and a doctorate degree are listed as preferred qualifications.
The district also stated that the selected candidate will be required to reside within the Marfa ISD district.
