Holistic grazing workshop set for Mimms Ranch near Marfa

A three-day workshop focused on drought preparedness and rangeland management is scheduled for April 30 through May 2 at Mimms Ranch in Marfa.

Hosted by Holistic Management International, the “Success Through Drought” workshop will feature three instructors offering hands-on training in water planning, grazing strategies and livestock handling.

The program includes sessions on proactive water and rangeland planning led by Casey Wade, holistic planned grazing with educator Linda Pechin-Long and on-foot stockmanship training with Dawn Hnatow.

Organizers said the workshop is designed to help ranchers and land managers build resilience during drought conditions through practical, real-world techniques.

The event will run daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an earlier 2 p.m. conclusion on the final day. Lunch will be provided on Thursday and Friday. Registration is $350 per person, and scholarships are available for qualifying participants.

Mimms Ranch is located at 1001 N. Austin St. in Marfa. Participants can register online through Holistic Management International.
